My name is Jocelyne Spellman, and I was born and raised in Manitoba, Canada. I am thrilled to be a part of the team here at Jefferson County Christian School teaching the music class from Kindergarten through 2nd grade.
Growing up in a musical family of 6 that was heavily involved in ministry provided me with many opportunities to be involved in Kingdom work. It was at this time that I developed a passion to serve God’s people wherever I was needed and in a variety of roles.
At the age of 4 all of us children began taking music lessons. At the age of 13 I began teaching Sunday school and from the ages of 16-19 I began playing piano full-time in church. My passion for people and desire to work for the Kingdom led me to leave Canada to attend Christian Life College in Stockton, California. During my junior and senior year in college I served as the music secretary to the Dean of Music and was also the music team president. I graduated in 2005 from Christian Life College with high honors earning a Bachelor of Arts in Music.
After graduation I was brought on staff at my church, Lighthouse of the Valley, and served as the music secretary for 2 years and the church secretary for 1 year and served on a committee to develop a children’s program until my husband and I felt God direct us to move to Northern Virginia where we served as Student Pastors of a growing multicultural church.
In 2011, me and my growing family relocated to Jewett, Ohio where we joined the staff of Harrison Hills Church. I began serving as Music Minister, Children’s Ministry Director, Head of Ladies Ministry, and as of 2014 the First Lady of Harrison Hills Church.
I am thankful to be married to a very supportive and loving husband of 12 years, Philip, and we are proud to be the parents of four world changers; Alyssa (8), Bentley (6), Zoey (3) & Landry (2).
