[fusion_text]At Jefferson County Christian School, we provide exceptional, Christ-based academics in a safe, nurturing environment.  When you join the JCCS family, you are woven into a partnership to help your child reach their maximum potential.  From grades Pre-K through 12, our teachers and staff are committed your child’s growth, both academically and spiritually.

Curriculum

Elementary (Pre-K through Grade 6)

In the Elementary Program we use a traditional curriculum that heavily emphasizes the “three R’s”: reading, writing, and arithmetic.  Students in Grades 1-6 also study science, social studies, language arts, health, spelling, and penmanship.

In addition to regular classes, the elementary attend special classes throughout the week in physical education, music, art, computers, and library.

Daily Bible classes are taught in every grade from the non-denominational perspective of the ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) Bible curriculum. The Lower School (K-6) meets together for Chapel every Wednesday for a time of worship and a lesson from Scripture.

Intervention Services

Each child’s mind is uniquely created by God and for His purpose.  This uniqueness includes strengths and weaknesses.  Our Intervention Services Department acknowledges learning differences and provides a variety of programs, strategies, and teaching methods to meet the learning needs and challenges of exceptional children.  Support extends to the teachers and families of children who learn differently.  Through a team effort, children with learning differences will become successful and independent learners who realize their God-given abilities and fulfill their God-designed potential.

At JCCS, we offer a 3-fold intervention program to best serve your students.

  1. Intervention Specialist
    • Students who are not able to perform at grade level may be pulled out for specialized courses that will meet them at their current level of work.  Our intervention specialist works with these students in a small-group environment for a variety of courses during the day.
  2. Dyslexia Specialist
    • We are proud to have a dyslexia specialist on staff who is able to assist student with dyslexia in learning how to read more efficiently.
  3. Tutor
    • Students who are able to perform at grade level but need an extra boost may be visited by our school tutor who is able to sit with them during class or pull them out for short tutoring sessions during the day.

**Speech therapy is also available for students who may require these services.**[/fusion_text]
